Faith Baptist Church of Corona NY

Bible Institute | Current Courses

This ASL course is designed for those who would like to learn ASL in order to use it for ministry. The goal is to create an accessible venue for those who would like to communicate better with the deaf community in order to forge meaningful relationships, spread the Gospel and encourage disciples of Jesus Christ. Hopefully this course will encourage the participant to minister with the deaf community at church as well. This course is held on Tuesday evenings from 7:00 to 8:30 p.m. on the following schedule.

Class Structure and Assignments

During each class we will learn new vocabulary and will have an opportunity to practice words, spelling and conversations. We will sometimes see a video clip in sign and will try to understand what is going on as much as possible. Every class after the first class will have a type of review. Breath, relax and have fun! ASL is a beautiful, expressive language and the deaf is an under-reached group of people here in NYC and in the world.

Outings and Special Events

Please stay posted about any special events for the deaf that are happening this semester and try to get involved as much as possible.
