HPS_9_23_Street_fair_Woodside.pngJoin us this Saturday for a morning of ministry as we serve our community by sharing the gospel at a local street fair. We will be at the Woodside "Queens" Festival on Woodside Avenue for the day introducing our community to our church. If you are interested in participating, speak with Pastor Swanson or Pastor Christian. We look forward to this exciting time for our church to reach into our community with the good news about Jesus.

Children can learn about the importance of ministry in the local church from a young age. One way they can do that is by growing in their musical abilities. That's why we are thrilled to introduce Patch and Peewee Clubs this Fall. This special ministry will provide your children with weekly Bible lessons, fun activities, and training in music. We look forward to preparing the children of our church to minister in song during our services.

In addition, we offer devotional journals and personal Bible study booklets (Milk, Meat, Bread, Fish) for teens to use throughout the week. Couples Retreat
All Day

HPS_10_20_21_Couples_Retreat.png"Unless the Lord build the house, they labor in vain who build it." Psalm 127:1

Marriage was God's idea, and he hasn't left us to our own ideas. He meant it to be a blessing, but the world has turned it into a curse, and unfortunately, his people haven't done much better. There are biblical foundations for a good marriage, and unless we build our marriages on these, our best efforts are doomed to be something less than what he intended. Joining both Christian and secular research with biblical principles that validate that research, we will learn how to place our marital relationship on the firm footing of God's way of doing marriage.

Join us for a special weekend of strengthening our marriages with time-tested biblical principles. You will enjoy some much-needed recreation, Bible teaching, fellowship with other couples, and time alone with your spouse. Sessions will focus on the importance of couples nurturing a close marital relationship and a dynamic walk with God.

If you would like a printable copy of the retreat brochure and registration information, you can pick one up at church, or click the PDF here. Couples-Retreat-2023 Brochure-Insert-2023

Pastor Stephen Christopher and his wife, Ruth, have been happily married for just over 50 years. They came to Brooklyn in 1978 to assist in the ministry of Bay Ridge Baptist Church, and in 1989 he became the pastor of Memorial Baptist Church. After a third of a century at Memorial, he passed the baton. Now they are "retired," but Pastor continues to pulpit-fill and assist local churches as needed.
