Outreach and Discipleship Pastor
Born and raised in the Queens borough with an Ecuadorian and Italian heritage, Christian attended Faith as a child where he developed an early passion for church ministry. He serves Faith by coordinating gospel outreach events and guiding the children’s and teen ministries. He makes house visits, manages the website, plans worship services, and provides regular biblical teaching.
Christian loves spending quality time with his wife, Laura, especially exploring interesting sites together throughout NYC. He also enjoys visiting family in New Jersey. He’s a devoted Mets fan whose other interests include badminton, cooking, reading, volleyball, and American history (he’s a graduate of the Academy of American Studies, Long Island City). He completed his Master of Arts (M.A.) training from Maranatha Baptist Seminary in 2019.
Teaching and Administration Pastor
Thomas was born into a Pennsylvania Dutch family and raised in Hoosierland. He also spent a summer in Oregon. He serves Faith with a steady stream of expository teaching and by overseeing church events, personnel, and programs. He also makes house visits, provides biblical marriage counseling, and encourages growth and leadership through uplifting, transparent relationships with the men of the church. Prior to serving as our pastor, he taught in a Bible college and led an extensive urban outreach in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Thomas enjoys spending time with his wife, Sarah (a Queens native), and their six children. A loyal Mets and Islanders fan, he enjoys pickup basketball, hiking, Nintendo, writing, and an occasional St. John’s basketball game. He blogs at Shepherd Thoughts and will complete his Master of Divinity (M.Div.) studies at Baptist Bible Seminary in 2021.
Luis is a Queens native, born in Flushing, and attended Queens College after graduating from Cardozo High School in Bayside. In the 60’s, his parents emigrated from Cuba to the USA and he’s glad to claim his Cuban roots. He attended Faith as a child (his parents were founding members) and believed on Christ in 3rd grade at a private Christian school. As a deacon, he manages our stewardship of financial resources, while helping care for members in need. You may even find him singing in the choir.
Luis has thrived in his professional career in accounts receivable within real estate. He loves spending time with his wife, Yasmin (who also grew up at Faith), and their three daughters, especially strolling around the zoo and taking road trips together. He’s a lifelong Mets (and baseball) fan and enjoys eating good food.
Born in Central Pennsylvania, Jim has called Long Island home for more than twenty years. Converted from Catholicism, he has been a member of Faith for over 16 years, serving faithfully as a leader and teacher in our children and teen ministries. As a deacon, he manages building maintenance tasks while also assisting with our stewardship of financial resources and caring for members in need.
Jim is a grateful Penn State grad and Army vet with a long track record as a motivated sales professional. He enjoys being with his wife, Alexandra, and their two children. He’s an avid Mets and Steelers fan, guitarist, and dedicated distance runner whose completed the New York City Marathon three times.
Born and raised in Queens, Vlad attended Faith from childhood and exhibits a passion for serving Christ. He pursued biblical studies and graduated from Northland International University in 2012, then studied music education and graduated from Bob Jones University in 2018. Now that he’s back in Queens, he strengthens Faith by leading and coordinating our music ministries and teaching private music lessons during the week.
When he’s not serving the church and making music with a variety of instruments, Vlad enjoys soccer, volleyball, hiking, swimming, and other sporting activities. He also likes to travel, watch movies, eat, spend time with family and friends, and learn about new cultures.
