About Us | Pastoral Staff

"And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ" (Ephesians 4:11-12).

Thomas, a husband and the father of five, has resided and ministered in Pennsylvania, Indiana, and Wisconsin. He presently serves as the pastor of Faith Baptist Church here in Queens, NY. Through expositional preaching, teaching and counseling he desires to lift up the authority of God's Word, explaining it carefully and candidly and encouraging God-dependence and wholehearted obedience to all that Christ commands. He believes that the gospel has the power to transform lives, families, and communities - especially in New York City.

Prior to pastoring, Thomas served for nine years as professor of Bible, theology, and New Testament Greek at Baptist College of Ministry (Menomonee Falls, WI), where he earned a B.A. in Bible ('04) and an M.A. in Bible and Theology ('06). He has also benefited from continued graduate studies from Maranatha Baptist Seminary (Watertown, WI).

He enjoys spending time together with his wife and children. He also enjoys urban cycling, pickup basketball, writing and the New York City Mets. He blogs and podcasts at Shepherd Thoughts.

Christian was born and raised in the Queens borough. While attending Faith Baptist Church as a child, he believed the gospel of Jesus Christ and received regular biblical teaching. He developed an early passion for local church ministry, being given many opportunities to serve in children and youth ministries. He desires to equip believers for steps of faith and obedience, especially towards church planting. He believes New York City can be reached with the gospel as believers obey the Lord’s commission to make disciples of all nations.

Christian spent several years receiving missions and pastoral training from Baptist College of Ministry (Menomonee Falls, WI), soon completing his studies with a B.A. in Bible (’17), and with plans to pursue ministerial graduate studies. As pastoral assistant, he provides vital ministry support, coordinating ministry functions with a special focus on children and teen ministries.

While living in New York, Christian enjoys spending occasional time with his family in New Jersey. Like many who grew up in Queens, he is an avid fan of New York Mets baseball. He also enjoys reading, American history, volleyball, and cooking.
