Senior Pastor
Growing up in the Midwest, Jim developed a unique burden for city ministry as a young man. Called to NYC while in Bible college, he came to the city in 1986. A year later, the Lord led him to Faith Baptist Church in Corona, Queens, where he served faithfully as the assistant pastor for over 25 years under Pastor Vincent Sawyer. The Lord directed him out of NY for a time before he moved back in 2017. He continued to serve at FBC until 2021 when the church called Jim as the senior pastor.
Jim and Colleen, his wife of nearly 40 years, have five adult children - two of whom serve in full-time ministry. As senior pastor, he focuses on building relationships in the church, shepherding couples and families to spiritual growth, and faithfully preaching God's Word. He and Colleen love spending quality time together, or with their 10 grandchildren when they have the opportunity. When he's not catching up with Mets baseball, Jim reads anything he can get his hands on, especially history.
Vlad Vallejo
Music and Worship Coordinator
Born and raised in Queens, Vlad attended Faith from childhood and exhibits a passion for serving Christ. He pursued biblical studies and graduated in 2012 from Northland International University, then studied music education and graduated from Bob Jones University in 2018. He ministers at FBC by coordinating our music ministries and teaching private music lessons during the week.
When he’s not serving the church and making music with a variety of instruments, Vlad enjoys soccer, volleyball, hiking, swimming, and other sporting activities. He also likes to travel, watch movies, eat, spend time with family and friends, and learn about new cultures.
